Need: A snapshot of the current landscape of USAID-funded education programs integrating ICT4E. Once compiled, this data could uncover information useful for improving the planning and implementation of future ICT4E programs.
Solution: Landscape mapping provides a snapshot of the breadth and scope of USAID headquarters-implemented and Mission-based portfolios in order to identify opportunities and inform the technical approach to future programming. Upon reviewing more than 200 project reports, calls for proposal, spreadsheets, and annual reports, the project team condensed the report, focusing on 103 USAID-funded ICT4E programs. Information such as Project Name, Description, Location, Duration, Goal, Technology Deployed and Target Group were collected. This data was then cross-referenced with fixed and mobile broadband subscription rates in developing countries to realize correlations between ICT4E projects and technological adoption.
